Voir la version complète : Your opinions on ~86 Yamaha FJ1100 and FJ1200
Hello,
what do you guys think about the 86 Yamaha FJ1100 and FJ1200 bikes? I think the FJ1200 had up to 130hp.
I find that without the 80s design/colors this bike can look pretty sweet (painted black and maybe silver)
i heard this bike uses the same engine as from an acura legend or something... anybody know if there's any truth to that?
overall what are your opinions on this bike and would you go for it if it was clean/good condition at lets say $1500

for a low budget bike it's a good idea!
the 130hp version was the turbo one, I think!
It could be a very good learner bike, but their nothing really sport about this bike! Well, not on todays standard

this is a great bike, i wouldn't suggest it for a beginer, it's quite long and heavy....it's great sport-tourer, it had 130HP and was non-turbo, I drove one for a while in the early 90's.....Smoothe machine....

thanks for the input
these bikes did 10.xx-11.xx sec, thinking about it... that prob overkill for some beginners, i guess it all depends on the person.
do you guys spend a lot maintaining a bike, or no (considering you only ride it a couple of months per year)?

All depend on milleage you do!
I'm using my 2nd tire(pirelli Diablo, which are good for at least 8K km) this year(installed the first brand new this Spring)
I've done 3 oil change, need to check valve, plug, air filter!
I'm the insane one that have already 12K km done this year(most people don't even do this many km in a year)
More you ride, more you need to maintain.
for a "normal" use, no you don't have to wrench on your bike a lot!(almost never)
